RHQ NEWS: Regimental Headquarters Branch Circular for March 09 Posted 15 Mar 09 RHQ have released information regarding Black Weekend for 2009 which will be held at New Mons Barracks, Aldershot - home of the 1st Battalion. Dates for the event are from the 8th until the 10th of May 09. More information on this and other events can be found in the Court Circular here ....

BRANCH NEWS: Posted 03 December 09 The Leicester Branch would like to express its condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Sergeant John Amer of No.1 Company, the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, who was killed in action in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on Monday 30th November 2009. The Leicester Branch would like to express its condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Lance Corporal James Hill of the Mortar Platoon, 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, who was killed in action in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on Thursday 8th October 2009. The Leicester Branch would like to express its condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Guardsman Christopher King of the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, who was killed in action in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on Wednesday 22nd July 2009. “At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them”

The Leicester Branch would like to express its condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Lieutenant Douglas Dalzell of the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, who was killed in action in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on Thursday 18th February 2010. The Leicester Branch would like to express its condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Lance Corporal Darren Hicks of the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, who was killed in action in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on Thursday 11th February 2010. “At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them”

HONOURS AND AWARDS : Posted 03 Oct 2010 The President, Vice-Presidents, Honorary Secretary and all Leicester Branch Members would like to offer their congratulations and admiration to all those members of the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards Battle Group who were recognised for their bravery and professionalism in Afghanistan. A list of the awards and decorations is listed below: MBE: Major Till – Coldstream Guards MILITARY CROSS: Lieutenant Dalzell – Coldstream Guards (Killed in Action – Posthumous) Colour Sergeant Baines – Coldstream Guards Sergeant Swift – Coldstream Guards Lance Corporal Reader – Coldstream Guards MENTIONED IN DESPATCHES: Lance Sergeant Owen – Coldstream Guards Lance Sergeant Pates – Coldstream Guards Lance Sergeant Wallis – Coldstream Guards Corporal Riley – The Yorkshire Regiment (attached 1 Coldm Gds) (Killed in Action – Posthumous) In addition to the above listed, a further 15 members of the Battle Group were awarded Joint Commander’s Commendations.

BRANCH SITE NEWS: SITE UPDATE March 2011 Posted 06 March 2011 We’ve just updated the site with two new galleries featuring over 150 photos and images from past to present day. The first gallery belongs to Dave Jelly (Chairman of the Branch) and features some fantastic images from Branch Events and also some some ‘old boy’ images that should bring back a few memories. The second gallery is a collection of images and photographs of members and events from the Leicester Branch, a huge collection that should bring a smile to everyone’s face!
