Mike joined the Coldstream Guards as a junior Guardsman in 1960 and went straight to the 1st Battalion who were serving in Windsor in 1962. Whilst serving he visited and served in many locations including British Guiana, Germany, Aden, Chelsea, Tidworth and Pirbright. He left the Coldstream Guards in 1971 and started up work as a roof tiler. Mike worked for one firm and then started up his own roofing business and continued this until 1990. In 1990 Mike bought his first charter boat (Challenger) which he kept and worked for 13 years. In 2003, Mike sold Challenger and bought a bigger boat (Challenger II) which he regularly takes anglers out on Fishing Trips. Mike will be 65 in July (2009) and intends to provide this outstanding service for many years to come.
